WE AT 98 SPARKS STRIVE TO MAKE A MEASURABLE POSITIVE IMPACT ON COMMUNITIES AND THE ENVIRONMENT IN ALL THE DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES WITHIN OUR GROUP.
THUS, WE ARE PROUD TO HIGHLIGHT VAN DEN BERG ROSES CHINA INSTALLATION OF TWO HOT WATER BUFFERS IN THEIR GREEN HOUSES IN YILIANG, YUNNAN PROVINCE.
This a pivotal milestone not only for VDB but also for the agricultural industry as a whole in China.
“We are excited to be propelling China forward in its efforts of leading the world into a sustainable and more environmentally conscientious future.”
-Nic Pannekeet, Founder of VDB China & 98 Sparks
These newly-installed, state-of-the-art hot water buffers have allowed VDB Roses to reduce two coal boilers.
In July 2017, after the local Yunnan government implemented strict regulations for coal output, VDB Roses China took immediate action and got rid of two of their five coal boilers and also built two hot water buffers.
The new buffers allow all of the heat to be stored inside, therefore when the it is cold or humid, the water can be released throughout the greenhouses at once. The two water buffers have a capacity of 3000m3 each and can store water with a temperature of up to 90 degrees celsius.
Van den Berg Roses China is now one-step closer to being completely coal-free and hope to reach this goal of zero-emission agricultural practices by 2020.
